Be the first player to run out of cards & finish the game as President
The Deck:
Pigs and Presidents is played with one deck of cards for every two people. Remove the Jokers. Card suits don’t matter.
3’s: Low
Aces: High
2’s: “Clear”
The Card Values:
Double blank domino: 25 Points
All other dominoes: Face Value
The Deal:
Shuffle all cards together and deal all cards out to everyone. Sort cards in your hand in value order.
The Play:
First player plays any card or collection of same cards (ideally you’d want to get rid of your lowest cards first). Next player has to match or beat the previous hand.
Continue playing around the table. If a player cannot match or beat the last hand, they can “pass” (which skips their turn until the table “clears”), or they can play a 2, which clears the table and that player can play anything they wish.
If there is a hand played that no one can match or beat, and everyone has either passed and/or no 2’s are played to clear, the table automatically clears to the player who played the last hand and this player can go again. If this player is out of cards, the next player on the left plays.
How to Win the Game:
The first player to run out of cards in their hand will become President in the next game. Remaining players continue to play until everyone goes out. All players change seats and sit according to the order they went out last game.
Begin the next round as before, except before the game starts, the President exchanges their two worst cards with the last place Pig for their two best cards (must be the 2’s, if any, then followed by Aces, etc.)
Vice President and 2nd Pig exchange 1 card each. You do not have to break up a pair to exchange cards, unless the pair reflects your worst value card. Then President plays the first card and starts the game.
*A fun twist: the most comfortable chairs go to President, Vice President, the worst chairs go to pigs!
