Be the first player to reach 1,000 Points.
For 2-8 players.
The Deck:
Arlington uses 2 decks of cards for up to 5 people, and 3 decks of cards for up to 8 people. Remove Jokers. Deal 13 cards to each player.
Card Values:
- 3-7: 5 Points
- 8-K: 10 Points
- Ace: 20 Points (Played high or low)
- 2 (Wild): 10 Points when representing K-8
- 5 Points when representing 7-3
- 25 Points when used as a 2
- 50 Points when representing Queen of Spades
- Queen of Spades: 50 Points
Rules:
Aces can be high or low but not around the corner.
A set is 3 or 4 of the same value, suit does not matter. 4 is the maximum.
A run is a sequence of 3 or more cards in the same suit. There is no maximum.
The Queen of Spades:
- Can’t be discarded unless it is the last card in your hand.
- Is worth -100 Points if it is in a hand at the end of a round.
- 2’s can only replace the Queen of Spades in a run of spades, not in a set of Queens, or in a run of any other suit. Note: only where it would “naturally” occur.
How to Keep Score:
The person who runs out of cards wins.
(Optional) The first player out wins a bonus 100 Points.
Cards left in hand at the end of the round are subtracted from the player’s points total, according to their value. The Queen of Spades is -100 Points. 2’s are -20 Points.
To Play:
- Player draws a card either from the top of the pile or the ENTIRE discard pile. Player MUST use top card from the discard pile AND 2 from their hand.
- Player places face up any melds he wants to play. He may add to his melds later but no one else’s.
- Player ends turn by discarding a card on the discard pile.
Note: The discard pile may NOT be inspected to see what’s underneath the top card.
